President Ivanov on Official Visit to Austria ‎

President Gjorge Ivanov will pay an official visit to Austria on June 20 upon an invitation by his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer.

On Monday, Ivanov will start the visit officially by meeting his host, Austria's President Fischer in Hofburg Palace. According to announcements, both presidents will discuss bilateral relations, ways to improve the business cooperation as well as Macedonia's integration to EU and NATO. Talks are also expected to focus on the process of overcoming the differences with Greece involving the use of the constitutional name - an issue which has been blocking the Macedonian Euro and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Ivanov will also meet with Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, while he is expected to wrap up his two-day visit to Vienna by meeting with representatives of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

President Ivanov kicked off his activities in Vienna on Sunday evening with a meeting with representatives of the Macedonian Church Municipality, media reports. At the ceremony in the church, which construction started in 2008 and is the sole religious facility of the Orthodox Macedonians in Austria, Ivanov told immigrants that Macedonian state will support its diaspora. As positive step in this direction he underlined the opporunity that the immigrants have to vote at last parliamentary elections held in Macedonia.
